Police Sport UK and Ethos to collaborate on a new sponsorship scheme
Police Sport UK (PSUK) have just agreed to co-venture with Ethos VO Ltd (Ethos) to initiate a new collaborative sponsorship scheme, that will raise extra funds to facilitate wellbeing through sport for the men and women of all Police Forces in the UK. Following research undertaken jointly with Cardiff Metropolitan University which corroborates existing strong evidence that taking part in sport considerably improves health and wellbeing, PSUK are looking at innovative new business models that will attract significantly more funding for Police sports, enabling serving and retired officers and their families greater opportunities to get involved and become more active. Ethos is the parent company of Team Ethos, a military sponsorship business model for the UK Armed Forces, which has successfully donated more than £7M to Forces sports since launching in 2011. Recently, Team Ethos was appointed as the official fundraising partner for Team UK for the inspirational Invictus Games in The Hague 2020. Ethos aims to bring this successful and proven model to help the Police as well.
Matt Jukes, Chief Constable of South Wales Police and Chair of Police Sport UK said: "PSUK are on a mission to increase the reach and opportunities for the policing community to participate in more sport as part of our Wellbeing strategy and are keen to explore ethical ways to raise more money through a similar model to Team Ethos. We are excited about working with Ethos.”
Rob Pye, CEO of Ethos VO Ltd said: “We are extremely honoured to have been asked to partner with Police Sport UK, which we regard as a significant endorsement of the activities we have already carried out for the Armed Forces and are really looking forward to doing the same for the UK’s hard working and world renowned Police Forces.”
