The first Track & Field Athletic Championships were hosted in Liverpool in 1928 and were the first Police Sport championships to be held in the UK under the banner of the POLICE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION. (Known as the PAA) (This later became known as the PSUK). 14 Championships were held including 2 Tug of War competitions. These events were only contested by male officers. As time progressed more events were added and in 1948 female events were added to the competition. Finally in 2003 ladies Triple Jump and Hammer competitions were added. Thus PSUK now hold Track & Field athletic championships at all UK(Athletic) standard events for both men & women. The section have two representative fixtures each year one in April against the RAF at Cosford and several universities and a second in May at Loughborough against the Combined Services and other universities including Loughborough. Any person my enter the championships and the team for the representative fixtures is selected from the results at the championships and known form at the time.
