Introduction

The Football section dates back to the end of World War II. There has been a Inter Force Knockout Competition every year since then, there are no regional qualifying events but the first three rounds of the competition are played on a regional basis.

In addition to the Inter Force Cup the section plays four representative fixtures each season.
England, Scotland and Wales play for the Chapman Trophy and a combined side play against the Fire Service.

The Chapman Trophy dates back to 1956 when the late Colonel Sir Robert Chapman CB, CBE, DSO,TD,JP Vice Lieutenant of the County of Durham, donated the trophy.

The UK side compete in USPE football where there is a tournament every four years, the next finals will be held in Greece in May 2010.
