The Rugby Section play at least four domestic fixtures every season, sometimes five depending on whether or not we are hosting a touring team. The teams we play are of County standard as well as an annual fixture against the British Fire Service. This coming season we play a British Army ‘A’ team for the first time.
In addition we tour overseas every two years with a shorter weekend tour alternate years. We have visited all the major rugby playing countries such as New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Canada.
The Section is also responsible for organising the National Inter Force Cup Competition. At the present time this involves approximately 32 teams playing in area and regional qualifying matches with the successful teams playing in the final which is held on the third Wednesday in April every year.
