Police Sport UK swimming section encompasses swimming, water polo, diving and the new discipline Open Water Swimming which, is being trialed for 2010. It is managed through one appointed sub committee generally comprising of current and retired competitors and a senior officer as chair.
Everyone appreciates that swimming is a great way to stay fit and as a result, this section is popular with serving and retired police staff from around the country. The standard of swimming for those selected to represent the British team is obviously high, with many of the members having come from a background of competitive swimming at club, national and international level. Many of the current British Team members hold titles and records at civilian masters British, European and even World records.

That of course, is not to say that only the most talented swimmers are able to enjoy British Police Swimming! The Yearly calendar starts with the British Police Championships which are held throughout the country to allow everyone the best opportunity to attend. These championships, held annually in April are said to attract one of the largest competitor numbers of all the Police Sport UK events with police staff of all ages afforded the opportunity to compete amongst swimmers of their own age in the range of masters events as well as the more competitive open events where swimmers of all ages compete against each other.
Those wishing to represent their Force at any of these disciplines please contact your Force Sports Representative. Anyone who would like further details on any of the PSUK Aquatic Teams please contact Claire Thorn.

The Open Water Swimming team is very much in its infancy, if you have any questions please contact Claire.
