There are two distinct sports held in this section, with Power-lifting becoming very popular in recent years, some competitors take part in both disciplines.

There are two competitions against combined services every year (Paul Hooker a Detective Sergeant from Dorset is the main organizer)

There no UPSE for power-lifting or weightlifting events.

There are National Championships for both disciplines each year.
