Introduction

The PAA National Knockout began in 1975. Cleveland was the first Winners of the City of London Cup. The Sussex Rose Bowl was introduced for the Runners Up in 1978. A year later (1979) a Man of the Match Trophy was donated by Hugh “NL” Blenkin (Met) with AP Riley (Sussex) becoming the 1st recipient. For several years now the Final has been played at a 1st Class County Ground. The likes of Trent Bridge, Taunton, Riverside, Bristol, Rose Bowl and Northampton have all hosted previous Finals and Derby will be the venue for 2011 Final.

In 2005 John Giffard (ex CC Staffordshire and former Cricket Chairman) presented a Plate which was the beginning of a new Competition for 1st Round losers from the main Draw. This was introduced to allow Forces to have the opportunity to play more fixtures. The first Winners were West Mercia.
British Police CC was formed in 1973.
From humble beginnings with a single fixture v MCC it has grown into its current format of 5 x 50 over fixtures during a week Tour in London and additional fixtures in East Midlands where T20 has been introduced. Fixtures include a County Development / 2nd XI, Army, Royal Navy, RAF, British Fire & Prison Services and Club Cricket Conference. During this time 159 players have represented BPCC.
The Section is now fortunate to have Police Credit Union on board to Sponsor the Competition.
BPCC is looking to participate in WPFG Belfast 2013 where the organising committee have stated they wish to see a T20 Competition played.
There is a 2nd website available to view which contains National Knockout Competition and British Police CC info. We encourage and welcome more members to get registered.
